Installing a new appliance yourself can look simple enough. There are several reasons to have an installer do it instead.

Appliance connections can be dangerous if the work is not done correctly. A licensed electrician makes the electrical connection safely, which lowers the risk of shocks, damage and fire. Anything involving a gas connection is a job for a licensed gasfitter, not an electrician.

Installation takes time and it is physically demanding. An installer handles all of it: unpacking the appliance, getting it into position, connecting it and testing that it works properly. Many installation services will also remove your old appliance and dispose of it responsibly under local environmental regulations, so you are not left working out what to do with it.

Part of the job is making sure the appliance is set up to perform: calibrating the settings, checking the connections and making any adjustments it needs.
