01What decides your system

Why two houses need two different systems

Roof orientation, shading and when you actually use power matter more than headline kW.

Roof orientation

North maximises total yield; a north-and-west split spreads generation across the whole day.

Shading & obstructions

Trees, chimneys and neighbouring builds change panel placement and string design.

When you use power

Home during the day or out until six? This decides whether a battery earns its keep.

Switchboard capacity

Solar needs its own protected circuit. A full or ageing board gets addressed first.

Multiple MPPTs

Splitting an array across inverter inputs lets each roof face perform independently.

Future EV charging

If a car is coming, we size and position now so you're not paying twice later.

02Our process

From roof assessment to export approval

Assess & design

Roof measure, shading check and consumption review with our solar partner, then a system design with real yield estimates.

Approvals

We handle the network connection application so nothing stalls after install.

Install

Panels, mounting and inverter installed by our accredited solar partner. M&J handles the switchboard and electrical work.

Commission & monitor

System tested, monitoring app set up on your phone, and export approval finalised.

03Our promise

Sized for your roof, not our margin

Solar is the one thing we don't do entirely in-house — we deliver it with a CEC-accredited partner we've worked with for years, and we handle the electrical work and the switchboard ourselves. It's easy to quote a bigger system than a house can use. We'd rather show you the numbers — generation against your actual consumption — and let you decide. Sometimes that means a smaller array, and occasionally it means telling you to wait.

05FAQ

Solar questions

What size system do I need?
It depends on your consumption and roof, not a rule of thumb. We review a recent bill and your roof space, then show generation against your actual usage before recommending anything.
Is a battery worth it yet?
It depends how much of your generation you currently export. If you're out during the day and importing every evening, a battery changes the maths. If you're home and self-consuming already, it may not.
Which panels and inverters do you use?

Predominantly Sungrow inverters with Jinko or AIKO panels — reliable, well-supported gear with warranties that mean something. Supply and installation of the solar equipment is through our accredited partner, and we'll explain the choice for your specific system.

Do you handle the paperwork?
Yes. Network connection application, export approval and STC paperwork are all handled as part of the job.
What happens if my switchboard isn't suitable?
We assess it during the site visit and quote any required upgrade upfront, so it isn't a surprise mid-install.
Will you service it later?

Yes. We deliver solar with a CEC-accredited partner, but we stay your point of contact — and because we're local electricians, the electrical side, switchboard work and any follow-up faults are handled by us. Inverter warranty claims are coordinated through the partner.
