A new home in Oran Park, handover booked for the 15th, and an owner who wanted the electrical extras sorted before a single box was carried in.
They had used us once before, back in 2021, and got in touch again a fortnight ahead of settlement. We booked the inspection for handover day itself and did the work five days later.
This client just got handover of their brand new home out in Oran Park and they wanted us out here before they moved in, just to add in a few extra light fittings, get a heat light fan unit installed in the bathroom and some cameras all around the house for them.

Why before you move in is the right call
A builder hands over a house wired to the contract, not wired to how you are going to live in it. Usually that means batten light provisions where you want pendants, an exhaust fan where you would rather have a heat light, and no provision at all for cameras.
Every one of those is easier, cleaner and cheaper in an empty house. No furniture to move, no floor coverings to protect, no working around someone’s week. On this job we were on site just over seven hours and did the whole lot in a single day, which would not have been possible with a family living around us.
What was done
- Four customer-supplied pendant lights, three replacing existing fittings and one installed new. Each circuit tested for suitability first.
- Two LED wall lights installed, including up to three metres of cabling each on the existing circuit.
- A heat, light and fan unit installed in the bathroom, with an opening created in the ceiling, connected to the local circuit, then tested and commissioned.
- Four owner-supplied EUFY cameras and two flood lights installed, tested and commissioned.
A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work was issued on completion.
On customer-supplied fittings
Most of the fittings on this job came from the customer, which we are comfortable with. Pendants, downlights, cameras, people have a look they want and they have often already bought it. What we will always do first is test the circuit for suitability, because a beautiful fitting on a circuit that cannot carry it is still a problem.
Worth doing before you buy
Ask. This customer asked us in writing which brand of four-in-one heater exhaust unit we would recommend for their bathroom before they purchased anything. That is a two-minute conversation that saves a return trip to the shop, and we would much rather have it.
