Services / Thermal imaging

Thermal imaging that finds faults before they fail

Loose terminations and overloaded circuits generate heat long before they cause an outage or a fire. A thermal survey finds them while they're still cheap to fix.

01What it catches

The faults you can't see but a camera can

Preventative, non-invasive, and completed while everything stays energised and running.

Loose terminations

The single most common cause of electrical fires — invisible until they're not.

Overloaded circuits

Circuits running hotter than they should, well before a breaker ever trips.

Failing components

Contactors, breakers and connections degrading toward failure.

Imbalanced phases

Uneven loading across phases that shortens equipment life and wastes energy.

Switchboard hotspots

Board-level surveys that pinpoint exactly which way needs attention.

Insurance evidence

A dated report demonstrating due diligence for insurers and auditors.

02Our process

A survey without downtime

Scope the site

We agree which boards, circuits and equipment are in scope, and when load will be representative.

Survey under load

Imaging is done with everything running — that's the only way heat signatures appear.

Analyse & report

Every anomaly documented with images, temperature differentials and a severity rating.

Rectify & re-scan

We fix what's found and re-image to confirm the hotspot is genuinely resolved.

03Our promise

Evidence, not opinion

Every finding comes with a thermal image, a reference image, the measured differential and a severity rating. You get a document you can act on, hand to an insurer, or file for an audit — not a verbal 'that one looked warm'.

05FAQ

Thermal imaging questions

Do we need to shut down for the survey?
No — the opposite. Equipment must be running under normal load for heat signatures to appear, so we work around your operating hours.
How often should it be done?
Annually for most commercial sites, or more frequently for critical equipment and heavily loaded boards. Insurers often specify an interval.
What do I actually receive?
A written report with a thermal and reference image per finding, the measured temperature differential, a severity rating and a recommended action.
Is this relevant for a home?
Occasionally — usually where there's a suspected fault, a history of nuisance tripping, or an older board being assessed before an upgrade.
Can you fix what you find?
Yes. We're electricians first, so rectification is part of the same engagement — and we re-image afterwards to confirm it's resolved.
Will my insurer accept the report?
In our experience, yes. If your insurer specifies a format or interval, send it through and we'll work to it.
